Who Cares?

The academe has laid the foundation to every individual who passed by it. It is aimed to have them realized the value of education. This should be used in their everyday encounter with life. By means of the nurtured knowledge in the school, it is expected of them to have good decision. This should alleviate their status in life.

THE USUAL THING!

The graduates are mostly seen in the many food chains in the metro. They are serving the customers with their most gracious smile. After a day of hard work, they will be compensated with 380 bucks approximately. ( Would it be enough for a decent living?)

or

They are in the malls serving as sales ladies, sales representatives, promodizers, or even in the janitorial departments.

we are lucky if...

Atleast one of them works in a goverment office or a young professional.

MOSTLY:

They have no work, forever doing nothing in the haus.

THE POINT IS......

Until now education does not sink in their brain cells yet.... If not now...then when will it be?

  2. As long as i know everyone of us care about education but its a process that we need to accept that a rewarding career is a trial and error process. You have to try something out in order to learn fully whether or not you like it. Once you’ve worked for a little while, you can say with some certainty whether you like the job or not and, most importantly, why you like or dislike it. This helps you refine your career direction and identify a path that is more likely to be the right one for you.

  3. They said before the "Education is a key to success" but now a days, many students stopped. Because there is a problem to face it as a student and in this issue, mentioned the career life of each individual for what are the abilities/skills they have during the school days and working experiences. So that, many of them start to have an experience to have a personal expense to help also the parents before study. But the one thing, prove ourselves as you are to be proud...

  5. You are right on your point of view of the current youth's attitude over the importance of education. Most of them are careless about it. They will not realize how important it is until they experience the worst outcome of being lazy at school by themselves. I am blessed enough that my parents can afford my school expenses. But financial problems could also be the reasons on why most of the youth in our generation are not able to finish studies.

  6. Today, almost high school students can't continue there study in college because of financial problem and being poor. Poorness is not a valid reason for you to do not continue your studies. You can be a working student like others, they are striving hard for them to support there studies. They are not waiting for there parents to support them, they are helping themselves in continuing there studies. As long as you want to study you can do it just pursue your dreams.

  7. I definitely say that you cannot determine what the person will be on the future in a kind of his/her level of living. Or does she/ he a graduate or not. This topic is one of those problem i feel right now that is hard to handle. When the time i decided to take a 2 years course, i said to myself that i should take at lease 2 years course so that any food chain, department store can please to hired me. But,... somebody makes me realized that 2 years course and 4 years course have no big difference. But still attaining ones goal is difficult. I feel lost of concentration and determination. Its hard to struggle in life.. very hard.
Studying hard is not so simple, i understand those person who are graduates but no permanent job after they graduated. Maybe its not that education does not sink in their brain cells , its a matter that its really difficult to compete. But sorry for those people who really waste their time. Maybe they not yet realized what kind of competition we have :)

  8. as a student, I myself have seen this problem, mostly there are graduate students with bachelor degrees. But, here are they, you will find them in department stores, even in food chains, why? . We as a Students, we have the privilege and also the right to have a good job after our studies, we mist not blame always the government, I am not saying that this is not their fault, a quite , really, gov't must be blame, but what I am talking about is that, we hold our life, we hold the key to our own success, we can do better if we want, I am saying that we will not just sit back and relax in our own home, we must work hard, if we dont want to get low salaries, so that we will not blame the gov't to that problem, just do it first by our own<><><> :-)

  9. and, 4 years and 2 years does not differ,.,maybe in years that you will take them, but it also differs if the student with a 4 year course doesn't have the initiative in his life, his 4 years will make no sense at all, but if the student has the ability, capablity and initiative in his life, he can do better rather than the bachelor degree graduate,.
it is not the basis if you are 2 or 4 years studying, its just the matter of determination that you can do it no matter what as long as you want it !!!!

Aside from it,if you're not a graduate in a state university you have no space in some good jobs. Unless you've graduate with a rank or high grades. So now, we've seen the graduates in low profile job's, unless you are hardworking, honest, sincere and highly positive person, you will be promoted. That's why education is our key to success.

All of us wanted a good education for a better future but some of us are not lucky to have it. The main reason was the financial problem that's why we have seen many graduate of a vocational course or under graduate who are working at the mall because they have to do it for their own needs.

  13. Unfortunately,As of now education is not really an important matter to some of the students as long as they are graduated from the course they had taken.Luckily they finish their studies yet not totally absorbing and gain knowledge. Fresh graduates are not all lucky to have a good job. I don't know if it's the on how they use their different techniques to find a better one or is it their lack of confidence and skills/knowledge hinders them to enter a big company. Few are chosen to have great opportunity but some of them are waiting. The problem is, lots of fresh graduate every year but on the contrary, unemployment is much higher on rate than the first one.

From Jonalyn Dianela, all i can say sometimes it is not the fault of the student, not besause not because they dont have a knowledge thats why they are working on the malls or food chains, its because there are no jobs available or waiting for them after graduated, they dont have a choice but to work in the malls or food chains, may be the economy or gov. have something to do with that.

  18. Many Filipino's valued education because this is the only thing that they can stop poverty. But Philippines has less of employment. So many professionals wanted to find job in other country than to serve in thier own country, while other graduates are only contented what kind of work that comes to thier and grab the opportunity. We are not comparing the knowledge of every individual even you are graduated with a four years course or you only take a vocational course. But depends in you how you valued your knowledge and had a determination to fullfil your life. Never stop stop or getting tired dreaming,go for it, believe that you can survive.

  26. as a college student, we all know that college life is very different to high school days. because being college needs more effort.brain & money is your foundation. many students will not continue their college studies because of some financial problem of their family. so they are just staying at home. they cannot find job because we all know that you should be graduated at least 2 yr. course before you hired as an cashier or sales lady in the department store.
so other students who did not continue their college lose the hopes to have a good job.
and they just depend on their parents. without trying to apply for some job that don't need a college level.
so we should give importance to the education because this is the only thing that other people can't steal to you.
so if your parents sent you to a good school grab the opportunity, study well because this is for your future.

  28. Education gives us the knowledge of the world around us. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on everything in life. People debate over the subject of whether education is the only thing that gives knowledge. Some say, education is the process of gaining information about the surrounding world while knowledge is something very different. Education makes us capable of interpreting rightly the things perceived. Education is not about lessons and poems in textbooks. It is about the lessons of life.

  31. thinking about education and what we are taught.??

With the proliferation of information and information sources, shouldnt we be taught at school, how to learn, where we can find information and how to make use of it.

The information we are taught at school is normally wrong, outdated or both. The most important things that schools teach is English(or the language of your choice) and Maths. English so you can communicate well and maths so you can model reality. The rest of the subjects you learn are just history of one sort or another, the history of how someone previously used varients of maths and English.

School should be where you are equiped with the tools of learning and the desire to learn.

When you have these tools and this desire then you should be allowed to make you own choice of how educated and in what areas you become, but more importantly than that you should have the freedom to learn at whatever pace you desire.

basically I believe in the right to be free of mind, not to be constrained by what a government or tradition has decided should be my education. I believe in the freedom of information, people should have the right to learn whatever is known if they so want.

But the most important thing is to have the right to remain ignorant.

The right not to be forced to know how a microwave oven works, the right not to care about the differences between a Rembrandt and a Piccaso.

Our place is in society is defined not by how much we know, but by how little. Ignorance is not just bliss (ie by knowing nothing, nothing can worry you) its also valuable often when problems are found and solved its not by people who know that there are problems but by those who dont, and so are not constrained by them. This is the foundation of modern science, which is so reliant on the accidental ignorant discovery.

So to sum up EDUCATION is not as important as we think it is, being ignorant is just as important as being erudite. What is important is the ability to learn, the knowledge of how to learn and the desire to do so.

Or to put it simply in a modern society you cannot know everything so just learn what you need or want.

  35. EDUCATION? That is the question behind the actual words of complaint when school has the audacity to impose upon a students time and attention. There are some people dont have a chance to take an education because of the problem not only in financial but also in family commitment, so that they choose to take a job to help thier family. and i believe that "No man who worships education has got the best out of education.... Without a gentle contempt for education no man's education is complete."

  39. Education like the democracy, free markets, freedom of the press, and universal human rights is one of those subjects whose virtue is considered self evident. So is the superiority of the industrially advanced countries in attaining them. No questions asked. This uncritical acceptance has severely crippled our discussion of all these vital topics. For example in education most of our discussion centers around literacy statistics and the need to have so many graduates, masters, and so many professionals engineers, doctors, etc. in a given country based on the standards in the industrially advanced countries. The central issue of curriculum, and even more fundamental issue of the purpose of education normally do not attract our attention; they have already been decided by the "advanced’ countries for us and our job is only to follow in their footsteps to achieve their level of progress.

Graduates are mostly seen in the fast food chains and malls working that is not realted in their chosen field because of most of the graduates don't have enough knowledge in their course. And lack of opportunities as well. If there is, the competion is very tight.

  47. Yes education is key to success because the process of setting goals BEGINS WITH a dream or DESIRE. The next step is to DEFINE your desires INTO definite GOALS. WRITE THEM DOWN, Then MAKE a definite decision and COMMITTMENT to them. Success in achieving a goal is about four times higher when it is written down and kept in a prominent place. A daily goal list, like a shopping list, is a proven highly successful method for getting things done.

I thought that's the reason why there are so many graduates worked in a food chain or at the malls maybe the company where they applied was ignore some of their skills they don't have given a chance,no choice that's the reality.......but always think that as one door closes behind you, another will open wide, there's a purpose for this change in your life, and a reason only time will provide.

  56. That one was really tough, but unfortunately that was true, that most of the students don't get to realize the importance of education. Students, we are given almost all of the chance to prepare for the challeges of life, but a lot of times we just take them all for granted which is not good. Instead of ignoring the education's value, my fellow students, I, should be very thankful. I guess while the chance is still there, I think we should grabbed it and don't let it pass. It's for our own good, right?...No one would care for us but just ourselves. Your blog is a good realization thing. We should strive really really hard to live.

  57. Most of the graduates are seeing in malls as salesladies, promodizers, etc. or even in food chains. Why?
Is it because of the poverty? Or they are afraid to seek a job that is inclined for them?
The truth is,they 're not using what they have learned in school. They choose to be playing safe.Because they are lacking the determination to find a job that can sustain a decent living so they go for a job that is easy for them. There's a lot of opportunity for us so why we wasting it?If we know our capability and knowledge,if you are determine to find a job that will suit to you, then go. We must use our skills and knowledge that we have learned during in college.Education is the key of success, so don't waste it whether you are gradute in state universities or computer schools, as long as they educate you and you have learned from them go for a job that can give you a decent living and at the same time grow as a person.Don't waste our knowledge and what we have learned from our great teachers.

They always say that "education is the key to success", but for me those who have knowledge and have goals in their lives are the one who became successful.

Many students are going to school to have their "baon" but they are not interested on what the instructor discussed, there for education didn't sink in their brain cell. Many of us doesn't care about what happen in future. As a student, we should have an extra effort in our studies for us to become successful and not only a saleslady or something that are not suitable for our course someday. ;D

  60. This blog is an eye opener especially to the gradutes this coming March or Aprilo.

The blog is pointing about to those graduates who are doing nothing but staying in their houses all day, still depending on their parents instead of finding a good job that will support their needs and most especially in exchange on the sacrifices of their parents. But not all of us are like that maybe nowadays it is very hard for us to find a job because most companies are looking for those applicants who have more experiences than the fresh grads but this wont stop to find a good job istead take this a challenge for us to work harder, strive more to pursue pur goal in life.

Education will serve as an opening door for our success and no one should ruin this from us and its nice to hear that many graduates are urging themselves just to land a job even on the groceries, mall, fast food chain etc. For me this is very usual, the point is at least they find a job that will help them for the mean time. This is better. What is worst is after you graduate you are sleeping at home and not looking for a job!

  62. the value of education really dropped down, and most of the time, ignored by the students. they never realized what their lives would be if they become serious enough in making good decisions and uplifting their selves for a brighter future.

there are lots of them staying at home doing things they used to do: watching the television and sleeping all day, because there is nothing do to with them.they call scrap....for they are useless and stuck doing non sense.

i would agree that education does not sink in their brain cells, it is the thing they hate most.

College education is a big step for anybody to take. Many young people are overwhelmed when they are standing on that threshold. However, there are some tips you can follow that will help you along. If you follow them precisely they can become your keys to success in your higher education !

It is wise to start up with the planning early. In fact, it's never to soon to think about what you want to do with your college education. A question like 'What do you want to do with your life?' can be pretty Scary, huh? But as a matter of fact, it shouldn't be. Since planning has to do with questions like What I will be doing ten years from now, it should be a fun and exciting session to look forward to

But getting into the right school and getting where you need to go is tough. The competition is stiff. Everybody is trying to get into the most coveted schools, so you have to think about your strengths.

I went down memory lane to remember all my teachers, my school subjects, the study and the play! I never really hated school. But I have seen many who hate going to school; I have had some friends who did not like the idea of studying in classrooms. Many of you must have unwillingly entered your school gates.... But all of us know this dislike never lasts long. We soon start loving school and it is when it is time to leave school that we are in tears.... Because, poverty eats up our ego to do things that we like and we love. It’s not because education doesn’t sink unto the brain cells of youth, it is because this is the job that our country offers, this is what’s available for now.

Many employers require college level education, even for roles which previously did not require it, such as administrative assistant positions. The fewer years of education you’ve completed, the fewer doors are open to you. It’s that simple....But there are many Filipinos who did not finished their studies, because we do not know if whats the reason of each everyone...In working with hiring managers to conduct candidate searches, it seems that the education requirement has become a barrier for entry into many careers, because education allows you to: so what would you do?? i think some cases are tend to financial support why? their parents have not enough money to send their children in school...maybe you pursue your self in whats better way to continue your study..to find job who will be first option to have their employee who have already in school...

Sometimes being an illiterate even we pass our educational activities is not student fault. There is lots of very irresponsible school or maybe teachers. For example the teacher who just sit in front of the class with out doing nothing, Telling some stories with out sense or her personal pathetic life.
A school with a very cheap tuition fee’s, so many enrollees, because they not rich, but when the semesters comes there are so many expensive activities they recommend to their students or the teacher assign something not practical, like for example renting computer shops for answering this activities. Why do you think we study in cheap school? Because we don’t have much money, right? Why some teachers make us expend much money when they already know we are not rich? How Ironic.
